“Firstly, I cannot thank the fans enough for the support they have shown for the team this season. We played seven games at home and each one had a packed stadium, resonating with high energy levels. Fans are an integral part of our existence and we love the energy they bring to the ground which contributes immensely to our confidence.

“This year we tried to build a team with a young core. The likes of Sam Curran, Nicholas Pooran, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh and Prabhsimran Singh are all part of our plans moving forward. Kings XI Punjab will be a force to reckon with in the IPL as always. We picked these guys with an aim to build a side for the future.

“We have missed out on a playoff spot and it is obviously disappointing considering how well we played at the start of the season. But we are a very optimistic side. We did lose some close matches and realize we need to work on some areas to ensure we finish the game with a win. But despite all odds, we came back and won our last match convincingly against CSK, who have been one of the strong contenders this season.

“I, personally, cannot wait to get started again and rework our strategies and get our young lot to play fearless cricket and make our fans proud. Once again, we at Kings XI thank our fans for the support and part with this promise that we will come back next year stronger and live up to your expectation."
