Mujeeb ur Rahman produced his best T20I bowling figures of 4/15 and helped Afghanistan win their 12th straight match after they beat Bangladesh in the tri-series match at Dhaka on Sunday.

Electing to bat first, Afghanistan posted 164/6 after a blitzkrieg from Mohammad Nabi, with Mujeeb then opening the bowling for the Afghans and striking in the second ball of the innings by removing Liton Das to push the hosts on the backfoot straight away.

Fareed Ahmad scalped another one in the second over while Mujeeb then tightened the chase up by removing the dangerous Shakib Al Hasan in the fifth over, the captain offering a leading edge to mid-on. At the end of that over, the Kings XI Punjab bowler in the VIVO Indian Premier League also sent back Soumya Sarkar in the first ball he faced.

Mujeeb's fourth and final wicket came in the 15th over when he dismissed the resisting Sabbir Rahman, reducing the home team to 95/6. Bangladesh were eventually bundled out for 139, giving Afghanistan a 25-run victory.

"Today he bowled in the right areas, so it was quite tough to hit him," Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan observed. "Mujeeb has done well in leagues for years, today he was fantastic."

Mujeeb's previous best bowling figures in T20Is was 3/17 against Ireland at Bready, taken in August last year.
