Three games into their campaign for the 2020 Dream11 Indian Premier League, Kings XI Punjab find themselves with two points on the table, after ending on the wrong side in thrilling clashes against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.

Despite the losses though, the team management remains optimistic of turning the tide in the coming game, as reiterated by star opener Mayank Agarwal. The 29-year-old believes that his team has been performing well for most parts of the game, and it will be just a matter of time before they can start converting those performances to wins.

“We are not thinking about that too much (loss against RR), we are very happy with the way we are playing and the starts we are able to give. Very honestly, the talks in the dressing room are still very, very positive,” explained Agarwal in the post-match press conference.

“There are 11 games still to go, there are a lot of things we are doing right, so we want to focus on that. Yes, we haven’t been able to close out games, but aren’t really focusing on the results. The kind of cricket we are playing, the brand of cricket we are playing, we are executing most of our plans, so we are quite happy with that,” added the Karnataka born opener.

Agarwal’s sentiments were echoed by Kings XI Punjab’s fielding coach Jonty Rhodes as well, who believes the team can turn things around in the next few games.

“The two losses that we’ve had have all been really tight, but still there are 11 games to go, we are still finding our rhythm. The boys are really positive, this team is really good, they are going to bounce back strong,” said Jonty Rhodes in an exclusive interview to KXIP.in.

With a major chunk of the tournament still left to be played, Anil Kumble and the rest of the Kings XI Punjab management have plenty of reasons to be optimistic, hopeful for a turnaround in fortune and results going to their way in the days to come.
