Following the huge success of the KXIP Cup, the Kings XI Punjab management organized the Open Selection Trials for which a Talent Hunt was opened on the 16th and 17th of February at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. In a clarion call to all young, aspirant cricketers across the country. Candidates were shortlisted by Bhupinder Singh, talent scout for Kings XI Punjab and a respected national and state level selector. The hunt attracted thousands of entries from young cricketers from across the country and justified the idea and efforts of the Kings XI team.

Ness Wadia, Director and co-owner aptly summed up the spirit behind the venture, “Cricket is about talent, no matter what background one belongs to or who one knows in the cricketing world. We are committed to supporting and encouraging budding talent and are happy as a team to be able to make it possible. The Kings XI Cup was a first step and it was overwhelming to see such a tremendous response. These trials are an open invitation to individuals across the country to come and be part of our team and perhaps even earn the opportunity to play for India.”
